SHAN is a small design company from Taiwan! We focus on the development of coffee appliances, especially espresso machine tools and equipment. We don’t have enough funds to shoot beautiful videos and pictures! What you see is the purest design and development! The purpose is to make coffee taste better! Let more people make good coffee easily.
In 2015, we developed the electric WDT (Weiss Distribution Tool) tool. Though found the espresso flavor to be consistent and delicious! However, due to the inconvenience of use, mass production was not ultimately achieved.
The following year in 2016 we invented Twister, a manual WDT device. It is also the only tool on the market that can evenly apply WDT from the bottom layer of Portafilters. Because it is a manual tool, only a few professional coffee players will buy it. Unable to apply to large espresso needs in coffee shops. But Twister’s beautiful espresso flavor presentation was the driving force for us to develop subsequent electric equipment.
So in 2020, we started developing the Twistamper, combining WDT and Tamper on one device, so that baristas can save most of the time of sorting out portafilters.
After two years of research and development and small-scale mass production, we started selling it to baristas and coffee players around the world on Kickstart.
